For taking care of kids’ dental needs in Colorado, it doesn’t get easier than Aabsolutely Smiles! We allow parents to be in the treatment room during the child’s visit. We also have a quiet office that is less intimidating to kids. Our children’s teeth cleaning is especially gentle because we use ultrasonic teeth cleaning methods to avoid the metal instruments that can make children uncomfortable.
We take the time to help parents and children develop habits of good oral hygiene for kids that will last a lifetime. Pediatric dentists can provide dental care for kids with extensive dental needs. We accept Medicaid of Colorado and CHP+ for those children with coverage. We have dentists who can provide the dental treatment when children need it.
Oral Hygiene For Kids: More Important Than Ever
There is more tooth decay now in American children (age 2-5) than has been documented in modern times. The sugar-laden foods kids eat and the soda pop they drink are a couple of the factors contributing to the increase of tooth decay in children. Because of this, regular children’s teeth cleaning is necessary to prevent major dental and overall health problems in adulthood. Also, we go out of our way to focus on helping to develop good oral hygiene for kids, instilling habits that will become life-long routines.

Toothprints® For Positive ID
Toothprints® is a special identification system in which an accurate impression of your child’s bite is made to keep on record in case a child goes missing. The bite impression, along with a sampling of DNA that is saved from the saliva on the impression plate, is critically important in the positive identification of a missing child. This is an incredible tool for parents. You have it done, then put it away in a drawer and pray you never have to refer to it.
Another special feature of this Toothprints ID is that the impression is sealed in a zippered plastic bag. This way, if the impression is needed and a child is missing, tracking dogs can follow the scent that is present in the package, thus increasing the chances of finding the child.
The Toothprints are recommended at ages 3-5 and then repeated at 7-8 years and 14-15 years and prior to leaving for college.
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants are a plastic coating that is placed in the permanent molars to prevent decay in the deep grooves of the chewing surfaces. These are the areas that are the most susceptible to decay. We use a sealant material that does not contain bis-phenol A.
