Who Are Dental Hygienists?
Dental hygienists are licensed oral health professionals who are educated at accredited degree-granting programs in colleges and universities. They must pass clinical and written examinations before they are licensed to practice.
What is the difference between a dentist and a dental hygienist?
Normally, when you see your dentist, it is the dental hygienist who:

There are certain things that a dental hygienist cannot do. For instance, dental hygienists do not fill cavities, perform root canals or extract teeth. In these cases Aabsolutely Smiles provides referrals for friendly local dentists who pick up where we leave off.
